Zarlink Expands Market Opportunity with New ClockCenter Free-Run Clocking Products
Zarlink Semiconductor (TSX: ZL) today expanded its ClockCenter timing platform with new single-chip "free-run" clocking products that replace multiple costly timing components traditionally used in high-speed telecom and datacom equipment.Zarlink offers the industry's broadest portfolio of network timing products that help ensure communication service reliability for end-users while solving integration concerns and reducing design time and costs for equipment manufacturers. The Company's expanded ClockCenter portfolio now includes products targeting free-run and optical transport network (OTN) applications. Zarlink also offers an extensive portfolio of packet timing products that synchronize wireless and wired networks.
"Revenue for our timing products grew by 39 percent last year, and we anticipate continuing growth as we expand our product portfolio to offer a wider range of solutions for existing and new customers," said Gary Tanner, President and CEO, Zarlink Semiconductor. "There is strong customer design activity for our ClockCenter OTN products as carriers seek solutions to solve bandwidth issues in the network core. Our new ClockCenter free-run products bring our proven expertise to telecom and datacom markets to help simplify design and lower costs for customers."
Deploying Zarlink's ClockCenter free-run timing solutions, designers can replace oscillators, multipliers, buffers and logic converters traditionally used to clock processors, memory and PHY chips, FPGAs and backplane interfaces with a fully integrated single-chip device. As a result, manufacturers can reduce design time, shrink board size, lower component costs and improve reliability.

Foundry Equipment and Supplies For Metal Casting Hobbyists ...
There have been remarkable improvements in foundry technology in the recent years and there are huge foundry jobs for the professionals in this industry. There are several foundry networks that deal in various types of foundry equipment and foundry supplies , which may include castings that may range in wide gamut from very cheap to most expensive. There are several home foundries that tend to purchase or use foundry supplies that are cheap and can be found readily available in the market. Metal casting for home purpose is actually undertaken by hobbyists.
Many people who get into this hobby require having cheap source of foundry equipment and accessories that are readily available at hand and not too expensive. This is the actual reason that draws more hobbyists to take casting as their ultimate pastime. Given that foundry supplies are used in building miniature home foundries, one can find these metal castings supplies in various types of metal foundry. There are several foundry networks that manufacture wide range of foundry castings which includes bronze foundry, iron foundry, brass foundry and various other metal castings. There are several online resources that offer huge line of foundry supplies specially for metal casting and if individuals can afford to spend money on these foundry products and make their own creations, this will eventually encourage them to purchase those ready made supplies .
The type of metal casting supplies that are required by the hobbyists will ultimately depend on the kind of creation they intend to plan. If they decide to use foam casting, they will not require wax, and vice versa. Most of the metal casting procedures makes use of sand in the process of creating molds and help securing the molds when molten metals are poured inside. The type of sand used will not need to be specially treated. Sand has been extensively used for Metal casting purposes since ancient times.
Most hobbyists usually use playground foundry sand to produce their creations. There are now specially treated sand known as green sand, widely used for melting. This type of sand is bound can form much better than usual to keep the sand. For most other processes such as fusion, the individual is necessary to find models with good supply of wax as often creations include foundry molds and wax.
