Free Foreclosure Prevention workshops in Northeast Ohio
The non-profit Neighborhood Community Foundation will conduct free foreclosure prevention workshops in Parma, Mentor, Elyria and North Olmsted.
Facing foreclosure is stressful for families, especially if they do not fully understand the process.
The workshops will be in:
Parma on Sept. 8 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Embassy Suites 5800 Rockside Woods Blvd. in IndependenceElyria on Sept. 10 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Ramada Inn 1825 Lorain Blvd. in Elyria
Mentor on Sept. 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hampton Inn 5675 Emerald Court in Mentor.
North Olmsted on Sept. 22 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at The Radisson 25070 Country Club Blvd in North Olmsted.

It strives to help residents develop a better understanding of the foreclosure process, recognize their legal rights, and learn about their options and potential solutions so they can remain in their home.
"Many American homeowners currently in foreclosure are being victimized by fraudulent actions from lenders and/or lawyers," said Peter Cozmyk, a foreclosure defense attorney who is one of the keynote speakers at the Neighborhood Community Foundation's foreclosure prevention workshops.
During the workshops Cozmyk will share free legal advice about the most common types of errors and violations found in loan documents and provide a full explanation of the laws that protect homeowners when facing foreclosure eviction.
In addition, homeowners will receive information from participating non-profit agencies to help them properly assess a practical course of action for their needs.
