The price for the largest onion went to Jayne Lilley, of Stortford, for a whopper with a circumference of 17.5in (44.5cm).
Her teenage daughter Anna won the contest for the best-tasting Victoria sponge cake with her fresh strawberry and cream creation, as judged by Isabel Hospice’s corporate relationship manager, Julie North, and its Bishop’s Stortford fund-raising group chairman Renee Friend.
