Stewart and Sause named All American Cheerleaders

   While attending a National Cheerleaders Association camp at Georgia Southern University with the SMS Football Cheerleading squad this summer, Lelyn Stewart and Kyler Sause were among 4 other girls on the squad nominated by the NCA staff to try out for All American Cheerleader. All American nominees are outstanding individuals recognized by the NCA Cheer Excellence staff who display superior skills in jumps, tumbling, stunting, motion technique, leadership and dance. After nomination, the girls have to try out individually in front of the whole camp, and score a 23 out of 25 possible points, in order to be named an All American.

   Those cheerleaders selected to the NCA All American team are eligible to attend any of the NCA Special Events. This year's special events that the girls can participate in include cheering at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, cheering at the Houston or Philadelphia's Thanksgiving Day Parades, cheering at the Christmas Extravaganza at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, or cheering at the New Years Day parade in London!

   Even being nominated for this team is an extreme honor, and to score high enough to be named an All American Cheerleader is an extreme award, and Stewart and Sause being named thusly is a high honor. The SMS Football Cheerleading Squad is coached by Amanda Taylor.

A beloved blue blur is set to return to the skies of New York City, as SEGA® of America, Inc. today announces that Sonic the Hedgehog will fly once again at the 85th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade®. On Thursday, November 24th, Sonic will defy gravity and soar as a giant helium balloon in the famed spectacular in celebration of his 20th Anniversary. A trailblazer from the start, Sonic in 1993, made his debut as the first-ever video game character to appear in the heralded march down the streets of Manhattan. Over the past 20 years, Sonic has evolved as one of gaming’s greatest icons, with his blue body and unforgettable spikes being recognized worldwide as a symbol of speed, adventure and fun. On Thanksgiving, the Sonic balloon will sky rocket into the atmosphere with massive blue spikes, his signature white gloves and red shoes, shining in the sun.
